IBM ESDK 2.5-inch (Small Form Factor (SFF)) 15k RPM SAS disk drive mounted in a Gen-1 carrier and supported in SAS SFF-1 bays. With 512 byte sectors (JBOD) drive capacity is 600GB. With 528 byte sectors (RAID) drive capacity is 571GB and the drive has additional data integrity protection. #ESDJ and #ESDK are physically identical drives with the same CCIN. However, IBM Manufacturing always formats the #ESDJ with 528 byte sectors. Depending on how the drive is ordered, IBM Manufacturing will ship #ESDK with either 512 or 528 byte formatting. Reformatting a disk drive can take significant time, especially on larger capacity disk drives.  CCIN 59CE.
